WHAT IS CBD?
CBD (Cannabidiol) is a potent, non-psychoactive cannabinoid found in hemp oil. It is typically extracted from hemp plants that are naturally high in CBD, other cannabinoids, and other phytochemicals. It is the most prevalent of over 100 different cannabinoids found in natural hemp. CBD is commonly used for its therapeutic and health regulating properties. Cannabidiol is reported to be responsible for a wide-range of positive health benefits through its interaction with the body's own endocannabinoid system, through cannabinoid receptors spread throughout our brains and bodies. It is known as a homeostatic regulator, which means cannabinoids main benefit is to bring balance to our bodies and minds.
CBD has also been found to activate many non-endocannabinoid receptors which could be a contributing factor to its positive action with good health.
Most recently the World Health Organisation has recognized CBD as both safe, non-toxic, with very few side effects and medical benefits.
Studies have found that CBD Binds to the TRPV-1 receptor, which is known to alleviate aches, pains & discomfort.
Cannabidiol activates the 5-HT1A (hydroxytryptamine) serotonin receptor, bringing about balance and harmony in ones self.
Full-Spectrum CBD VS Isolate CBD
What are the differences between full-spectrum CBD oil & Isolate CBD Oil?
Most notably, full-spectrum CBD will contain a number of the other 100 plus minor cannabinoids, while CBD isolate will contain just isolated CBD.
The most prevalent cannabinoids found in full-spectrum cbd oil are CBDa, CBDv, CBGa, CBG, CBN, CBC, THCv, THCa & THC. While not all full-spectrum CBD oils contain all of these cannabiniods, and many contain varying amounts and varying profiles, a full-spectrum CBD product must contain traces fo THCa & THC. if there is no THC present, it's not full-spectrum.
Full-spectrum can also contain many other important components from the cannabis plant, such as; Terpenes, terpenoids, flavanoids, minerals, omega fatty acids and more. In contrast, isolate will consist of CBD and a carrier oil, losing most of the health benefits and synergistic effects the plant has to offer.
Research has shown that full-spectrum has a far superior healing effect across the board compared to isolated CBD. The synergy between multiple cannabinoids & trace THC, is known as the entourage effect.

Whole-Plant CBD VS bio-mass (stems & Stalks) CBD
Unknown to many consumers, CBD oils are extracted in many ways from many types of hemp, differing grades of hemp and varying parts of the hemp plant.
So what are the main types, grades and parts used to create CBD oils?
- Whole-plant - As it sounds, uses the whole plant, from the ground up. This consists of stems, leaves & flowers. This is by far the superior choice.
- Flower only - As it sounds, just flower is used for extraction. While this is great and results in the majority of the benefits the plant offers, there are some missing compounds and minerals found in the stems and leaves.
- Industrial bio-mass - Most usually this consists of stems, leaves and left overs from trimming and processing. Often from under matured plants, or plants that have been miss treated or miss handled, or plants of a lower quality overall.
With each of the above options, there are many grades and varying qualities of raw material.
Most CBD isolate is produced from the lowest quality plants, low in cannabinoids, often contaminated and no good for anything other than processing into isolate.
Should Full-Spectrum CBD Oil be clear colored?
Full-spectrum CBD oil, especially whole-plant CBD oil, should never be clear, colorless or odorless.
Full-spectrum CBD oils should be clean,with varying hues of orange or gold. These colors come from the natural healthy fats like Omega 3,6,9, terpenes and other beneficial compounds. While it's possible to get crystallized full-spectrum powders, these have been processed so much and had all other beneficial components removed. This would essentially be blended isolated cannabinoids. :/
So for best results, we suggest avoiding clear full spectrum CBD oils. Why pay premium prices for lower quality products with all the natural compounds removed? You want maximum benefits, as natural as possible just as nature intended.
Is Hempseed Oil full-spectrum?
While you will most definitely see products labelled as full-spectrum HempSeed Oil, or full-spectrum Sativa Seed oil, you should know the truth is, this is nothing more than deception and miss-marketing, attempting to fool consumers into paying CBD prices, for cheap hempseed oil. To the untrained eye, these can be hard to spot at first glance. However, there is one simply way to ensure you're not getting miss sold to, that is, always check the product clearly states CBD content and publishes full 3rd party lab reports, for each batch number.
Hempseed oil is very healthy, and safe, it's just not CBD, nor does it contain any other cannabinoids or compounds found in the actual plant.
